We’re Jeff & Rayne, a ceramicist duo based in Sacramento, CA.

Aloe Baan is a mix of both of us. “Aloe” comes from Rayne’s South African roots, and “Baan” means “home” in Thai, which ties back to Jeff’s heritage. It’s our way of bringing two cultures together under one name.

Our work is pretty loose and intuitive. We don’t usually start with a strict plan. It’s more about feeling things out, going with the flow, and letting the clay and our hands figure it out as we go. Sometimes we’re surprised by where it ends up, but that’s the beauty of our work.
